Our Privacy Policy
You have been referred here because Svensk Vindenergi Ekonomisk Förening (“the Swedish Wind Energy Association”, “SWEA”, “we”, or “us”) as data controller processes personal data about you, which we do because you are an important person for us and our business. The processing takes place in accordance with applicable regulations, including the EU General Data Protection Regulation (“GDPR”)[1] and what is otherwise stated below.
The Personal Data SWEA Processes
We mainly process your name, email address, phone number, organisational role, and organisation. Sometimes additional information may be processed, e.g. if you are a Member of Parliament or a local politician, but only if you can be considered to have published the information yourself.
SWEA’s Purposes for Processing Your Personal Data
We process your personal data for the purpose of providing the services and products you have requested. We will also process your personal data to manage and administer our relationship with you and, where applicable, to administer contracts with you or your employer. We may also inform you about our events and other things that we consider to be in your and our interest. In addition, we may use your personal data to inform you about products and services we offer that may be of interest to you.
SWEA Processes Personal Data When You:
- apply for, change or cancel the SWEA membership,
- enter one of SWEA’s member councils or working groups,
- when you register on one of SWEA’s websites for news subscriptions,
- sign up for a newsletter or similar,
- register to participate in events organised by SWEA,
- apply for vacancies or express your interest in employment with us,
- answer surveys,
- appear in photographs or videos captured at SWEA’s various events,
- seek contact with us in other ways, such as by email or telephone.

In addition to ensuring that our processing of your personal data is correct and transparent in relation to you, we always endeavour to maintain a high level of security in all processing of personal data. This means that we continuously assess and take into account both technical and organisational risks to best protect your personal data from unauthorised access, use, alteration and deletion.
Your Rights
You have the right, in accordance with applicable data protection legislation, to request access to the personal data processed about you at any time. You also have the right to have inaccurate personal data concerning you rectified, to request the erasure of your personal data or the restriction of our processing of your personal data, to exercise your right to data portability and to object to the processing of your personal data. Where processing is based on consent, you have the right to withdraw your consent to the processing at any time.
