About the site – our aim is satisfied visitors
The Swedish Radio and Television Authority has granted Swedish Wind Energy a publication license for the Swedish Wind Energy website.
The publication license means that the site is not covered by the Personal Data Act, but the content is governed by a fundamental law (the Fundamental Law on Freedom of Expression]. This means that the site has the same protection as traditional mass media. Consequently, we are not required to request written permission to publish on our website a picture or article in which someone is seen or mentioned.
Nonetheless, we always strive to follow good editorial practice. The purpose of having a certificate is mainly to reduce administration and, accordingly, costs
A publication license is valid for 10 years. Swedish Wind Energy’s publication license was issued in 2011.
The publication license also means that the website has a responsible publisher. The responsible publisher as at August 2017 is Swedish Vindenergi’s CEO, Charlotte Unger Larson. Please contact Swedish Wind Energy for further information. The responsible publisher is responsible under criminal law for the content of the website, but not for information found on websites outside the domain to which it is possible to navigate via links from the Swedish Wind Energy website.
About cookies and the Personal Data Act (replaced by GDPR in May 2018)
What is a cookie?
A cookie is a small text file that the site you visit saves on your computer. Cookies are used on many websites to allow a visitor access to various features. It is possible to use the information in the cookie to follow a user’s browsing.
There are two types of cookies
One type saves a file for a long period on your computer. For example, it uses features that explain what is new since the user last visited the site in question.
The other type of cookie is a session cookie. While you are browsing a page, this cookie is temporarily stored in your computer’s memory for a range of purposes, including keeping track of the language you have chosen. Session cookies are not stored on your computer for a long period, but disappear when you close your browser.
You can make settings on your computer if you do not want to accept cookies. This automatically refuses to allow the computer to store cookies or informs the user each time a site requests to store a cookie. Previously saved cookies can also be deleted through the browser. See the browser’s help pages for more information.
Are cookies dangerous?
No, cookies are not dangerous. Cookie files are common text files and cannot contain viruses. The files are small and browsers only allow a certain number of cookies to be saved in the memory. There is, therefore, no risk that the computer memory will become full just because you allow cookies. Cookies are used to provide a better service to the visitor to the site.
