Charlotte Unger Larson steps down as CEO of the Swedish Wind Energy Association

Charlotte Unger Larson chooses to step down as CEO of the Swedish Wind Energy Association to live in the county of Jämtland full-time.

Charlotte Unger Larson was appointed CEO on January 1st, 2015. She now leaves the position in order to live in the county of Jämtland full-time after years of commuting back and forth from Stockholm. Charlotte will remain in her role as CEO until the end of August. The board has initiated a recruitment process for finding a new CEO.

– Leading the Swedish Wind Energy Association has been enormously rewarding, and I am proud of what we’ve accomplished. Since 2017, around SEK 90 billion have been invested in wind power and by 2023, more than 30 percent of our electricity consumption is estimated to derive from wind power. This is an amazing development which has been made possible by everyone engaged in the wind power industry, says Charlotte Unger Larson.

The cross-party Energy Policy Agreement, the wind power industry’s Roadmap for a renewable 2040 and the association’s 10-year anniversary are some of the highlights during Charlotte Unger Larson’s five years as CEO.

– The choice of leaving the Swedish Wind Energy Association is not without feelings of sadness, but I believe the time is right to pass the leadership along. I want to thank the board for their trust and my amazing co-workers at the Swedish Wind Energy Association secretariat who made our success possible. I hope to continue working with industry questions and sustainable development but based in Jämtland County, says Charlotte Unger Larson.

– The board is sad that Charlotte is leaving the Association, but we wish her the best of luck with her future challenges. Charlotte has done great work for the Association and clearly positioned our industry as a leader in the transformation of the energy system. We thank Charlotte for so successfully leading the Swedish Wind Energy Association during a phase of historic development of wind power, says Linda Burenius, chair of the board.

The board has initiated a recruitment process. More information about the position and the process follows shortly on the Swedish Wind Energy Association website.
